CLICK PICTURE TO HEAR “BE LIKE DREW”!
The New Orleans Saints and quarterback Drew Brees have agreed to a five year, $100 million dollar contract. The issue had been a source of contention between the two sides, with rumors of a holdout possibility heading into training camp. Now that the dust has settled, Brees owns the NFL’s richest contract based on a $20 million yearly average salary. Fantasy owners can now draft Brees with the peace of mind he will be ready for training camp and the world is as it should be. Given the Saints running back situation, another season of a pass-heavy offense keeps the veteran quarterback as one of the elite fantasy options at the position.

The biggest obstacle in Drew’s path to this contract was not the money or lack of it nor was it Mr. Benson being stingy with his star player. This was a salary cap issue that had to be worked and reworked by Mr. Loomis. He had to make sure that the Saints didn’t price themselves out of business signing new contracts in the coming drafts.
